My Weekend

Well, yesterday I went back to Chattanooga and got some more flowers. My flower beds look better than they ever have. I'm still learning. Stuff at the Barn Nursery are alot better than what is around here.I went to see What Happens in Vegas. It was alright, but not great.

This morning, I went to see my nephew, Jonathan Skinner graduate from Central. His family gave him a graduation cookout and we all had fun. Congratulations Jon. We are proud of you. Now go conquer your world.

Then it was home to work on my yard. I think I'm going to bed early tonight....

You sure it's the plants that are better down there and nothing to do with those snakes you are burying??

I have learned that the soil has alot to do with how your plants do. I don't throw things like egg shells and pealing (banana, orange, apples, etc) in the garbage. They are cut up and put in my flower bed and turned under when they begin to decay. I also put Miracle Grow on them about every 3 weeks. John and Ms. Ethel have taught me well. Still learning.

Sounds like you need to get a mulching bin. The peelings will decay faster if put in layers of leaves... A trash can with holes punched in the bottom will do. Go to www.diynetwork.com and search compost bins.

That sounds like too much work to me, Heather. I'm a lazy gardener, but like results.
